After finishing at Monte I had a gap year, including several months living with a local family in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal as a volunteer primary school teacher. I have since completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Sydney, majoring in Art History and Geography. I really enjoyed the freedom my degree provided. I studied a diverse range of subjects, including French, Arab Islamic Studies, contemporary issues in Indigenous Art and global development and livelihoods.
In my second year I spent a semester on exchange in Sweden, where I studied Sustainable Development. During my final year of university, I took part in a field school in West Java, Indonesia, studying land access and farming. This included staying with local families in coffee farming and pineapple farming villages.
I am currently a full-time intern with KPMG’s Sustainability Team. I have worked on both environmental and human rights projects, including assisting companies to improve their sustainability reporting and target setting.
I have been accepted into a two year Masters Program in Sustainable Development in Uppsala, Sweden starting in August. I am very excited to have this opportunity and continue to learn how I can do my bit to save the planet in a country at the forefront of environmental action and research.
I am currently enjoying playing with friends in the Alumni Netball Team.
